In Solar collectors liquid is heated by energy
from the sun. The liquid is then used to produce
hot tap water and heating for the house.
Solar cells (photovoltaics) converts solar
energy into electricity, used for all types of
electric equipment. Investing in both systems
will make you independent of the energy
prices. With a correct combination of solar
collectors, solar cells (photovoltaics) and
heat pump, you could be self-contained and
completely independent from energy costs.
Free Energy initially recommends a solar
heating system for hot tap water and heating,
since the efficiency is 4 times higher (40-60%)
than for solar cells (10-15%). It’s simply 4
times more efficient to produce heat and hot
tap water with solar collectors, compared to
converting solar energy into electric energy
for heating and hot tap water.
